Warmer for Thursday with evening storms; a brief cool down before a heatwave arrives
After a mild start to the work week with highs in the 60s Monday and in the 70s Tuesday, the heat came back Wednesday. Southwest winds brought higher humidity sent temperatures above average for the first time this week. The warm up will continue through Thursday with highs near 90°. A cold front will approach the state Thursday evening and widely scattered thunderstorms will develop ahead of the front. The storms will weaken as they move this way but a few stronger, gusty storms will be possible in our north and northwestern counties.
