Donation theft leaves kids sad, undaunted
Fifth-graders at Bayard Elementary School learned a difficult lesson recently from a class project to clean up the Bayard Community Park. Teacher Lucinda Valencia applied for and won a $1,000 grant from the National Park Service to take her 23 fifth-graders to White Sands National Park on April 25. FBI joins investigation into stolen paintings
TAOS, N.M. — The FBI is taking on the investigation of two stolen paintings that happened nearly 40 years ago in Taos. In 2017, David Van Auker, owner of an antique shop in Silver City, was sent to a house in Cliff, New Mexico, to check out the estate of Jerry and Rita Alter.
