FURRIES Act filed by Texas lawmakers targets non-human student behavior in schools

AUSTIN, Texas — A new bill filed in the Texas House would prevent students from behaving like anything other than a human being at schools in the state. The Forbidding Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education, or FURRIES, Act, filed by Austin-area Republican State Rep. Stan Gerdes, would "prohibit any non-human behavior by a student, including presenting himself or herself, on days other than exempt days, as anything other than a human being."

Driver killed in suspected road rage shooting in Fort Worth

A person is in custody and a man is dead after a fatal road rage shooting in Fort Worth Thursday morning. Fort Worth police said officers were called to a shooting on the 3600 block of NE 28th Street at about 8:40 a.m. Officers arrived to find a man with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body.
