Central Softball’s Sydney Miles is Athlete of the Week
Sydney Miles of the Central Lady Rebels softball team is this week’s Regional Radio/Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Miles went 10-13 at the plate this week. She helped Central win all three games at the Dexter Swing Pink tournament over the weekend where she went 8-of-9 with a home run. Miles talked about more about how the weekend was for her.
Endangered Person Advisory For Farmington Boy Canceled
The previously issued Endangered Person Advisory concerning a 6-year old boy by the Farmington Police Department has been canceled. It was previously reported that 6-year old Oliver Patrick Sulwer was taken Monday afternoon from the St. Franocis Medical Center in Farmington against medical advice. In a news release from the Farmington Police Department, it says that on Tuesday morning, the FBI located the boy near Collinsville, Illinois, along with his parents and a grandparent. The boy was then taken to a medical facility by ambulance for treatment. According to the news release, this is still an ongoing investigation.

Potosi’s Landon Sprous is Athlete of the Week
(POTOSI) Landon Sprous of the Potosi Track and Field team is this week’s Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Sprous broke the school record in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.19 which gave him the win for the event at the Union Meet last week. Sprous is currently ranked 2nd in all of Class 4 in the 300m Hurdles. Sprous shares what kind of preparation goes into a race.
Mineral Area College Track and Field Sees Multiple Personal Records Broken in Recent Meetings
At the Joey Haines Invitational held last March, the Mineral Area College women’s track team saw Amaya Rique finish first in the hundred meter dash, as well as set two personal records, en route to being named NJCAA National Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
