More details surrounding the death of Lance Storz, the man accused of killing three police officers and a police K-9 back in June, have been released after the lead detective over the investigation into Storz’s death testified to a Pike County grand jury.

Based on the testimony and surveillance video from the Pike County Detention Center, the jury agreed with the medical examiner’s findings.

According to officials, the video showed Storz inside of a pod that contained four individual cells. He was sharing a cell with another inmate.

The video revealed that on February 28th, Storz left his cell around 2:14 am and entered  a communal restroom with what appeared to be items hidden under his clothes, which the jury believed to be bedsheets

Storz was found dead in a shower stall at 6:36 am after hanging himself using the bedsheets.

Based on the video evidence and the detective’s testimony, the jury concluded that Storz acted alone in his death.
