Hundreds of fentanyl pills hidden in WD-40 can seized in St. Tammany bust, sheriff says
A St. Tammany Parish man has been booked in connection with the possession and distribution of hundreds of pills containing fentanyl, the Sheriff's Office said. The arrest of Derrick McDowell, 24, came after a traffic stop spurred by reports the Sheriff's Office had received that he had been selling drugs in the Covington area. On April 18 near Joseph Road and La. 36, deputies stopped McDowell and found 273 "counterfeit" pills suspected of containing fentanyl, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Car smashes into Dollar General, Slidell Police say
SLIDELL, La. — A car plowed through a Dollar General store on Robert Boulevard in Slidell on Tuesday afternoon, according to local police. The Slidell Police Department said they believe the driver "inadvertently pressed the accelerator rather than the brake" and that's when the car smashed through the store's glass doors.

SLIDELL, La. — A couple in Slidell were arrested after police say they left an infant inside of a car unattended while they shopped at Walmart. A citizen says they saw the infant alone and unattended in the running car in the parking lot and notified a Slidell Police Officer who was working detail at the Walmart.
Man who allegedly vandalized Mandeville synagogue sought by St. Tammany deputies
MANDEVILLE, La. (WVUE) - St. Tammany Parish deputies are asking the public’s help to identify and locate a man accused of vandalizing a Mandeville synagogue last week. The agency said the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras spray-painting graffiti on the outside of the Northshore Jewish Congregation’s temple building at 1403 North Causeway Blvd. The antisemitic vandalism occurred April 16 at approximately 1:30 a.m., authorities said.
