Chris Paul Reportedly Finalizes NBA Career Plans Following Suns' Decision

By Alek Arend,

Chris Paul may not be a Phoenix Sun anymore, but that doesn't exactly mean his NBA career has come to a close. It's quite the opposite, actually.

Per NBA insider Chris Haynes, Paul is planning on playing in the NBA for several more years. He's currently 38 years old, but still scored 13.9 points per game to go along with 8.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game during the 2022-23 season.

Paul doesn't just want to get a paycheck and play a few more years, though.

Haynes adds that the veteran point guard is interested in playing for a championship team.

"Chris Paul plans to play for several more years and is eager to help a team contend for a championship, sources say," Haynes tweeted.

Is anyone thinking Lakers right now? You're not alone.

Los Angeles could use another shooter and ball handler. A starting lineup consisting of Paul, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James and Anthony Davis could win a title.

With that being said, the Lakers probably can't afford Paul unless he takes a team-friendly deal. That might be the route he wants to take at this point in his NBA career. We'll see.
