Suns’ Devin Booker and Kevin Durant made history in their Friday night victory over the Nuggets. In their past five games together, the duo has combined for the most points of any two new teammates since 1962.
Booker and KD have combined for 290 points in this stretch, they have also yet to lose a game. Ahead of them lies a list full of Wilt Chamberlain and company.
On one hand, Durant is averaging over 25 points per game since joining the Suns, and on the other, Booker is averaging over 32.
It has been no surprise to see D-book have his game elevated to a whole new level with a 13-time All Star by his side. For the first time in Bookers’ career in Phoenix, he is no longer seeing the opponents #1 defender tied close to his side for the entire game.
Booker finished the month of March averaging over 32 points in the 15 games; he only had one night where he finished with less than 20.
Now, just five games remain in the regular season, and for the Suns, they are barely in front of a jam-packed mess from the #5 seeded Clippers to the #11 seeded Mavericks.
Phoenix’s four-game win streak has boosted them to a 1.5-game lead ahead of the Clippers in the fourth spot; however, a tough remaining schedule does not put them in the clear quite yet.
The Suns will wrap up the season with a home game against none other than the Clippers. The outcome of the game could very well determine the 4th and 5th seeds in the Western Conference.
