PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Flyers trying to get in and leave Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport ran into some issues on Thursday night. The north runway was temporarily closed because of what the FBI called a security incident on a British Airways flight from London to Phoenix. According to Flightradar24, it was British Airways flight 289. The pilot landed the plane safely and FBI agents went to the plane while it was on the tarmac. They determined there was no threat to the plane, passengers or crew, the FBI said. The plane was sitting on the runway for about an hour before heading to the gate just before 8 p.m.

A spokeswoman for British Airways said authorities met the plane “as a precaution.” Operations have returned to normal.
