When the worlds of sports and music collide, it's typically a collaboration or an expression of admiration.

Things have taken a different tone with the recent development of Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny directing an apparent shot at Suns star Devin Booker during his verse on Eladio Carrion's song "Coco Chanel," which was released on March 17.

As for the lines in question, Bad Bunny, who proudly hails from Puerto Rico, claims that the sun in his home country heats up more than the one in Phoenix, and "she" knows it.

Yo no soy malo, nah eso e' un gimmick (I'm not bad, nah, baby, that's just a gimmick)

Pero el sol de PR calienta má' que el de Phoenix (But the sun in Puerto Rico is hotter than in Phoenix)

Ella lo sabe… (She knows it…)

OK, so what? There are millions of people that live in Phoenix, what makes this a jab toward Booker? The answer is quite simple.

On Feb. 16, rumors began to circulate that romantically link Bad Bunny to model, media personality and socialite Kendall Jenner. In the time since, those rumors have heated up, as Jenner's "feelings are starting to grow" for the artist.

Prior to being linked to Bad Bunny, Jenner and Booker were in a relationship for over two years, with their break up reportedly coming in October 2022.

Now, the line about the sun in Puerto Rico heating up more than the one in Phoenix is beginning to make a bit more sense, and can even be viewed as a double entendre.

Devin Booker responds to Bad Bunny

While Booker is no stranger to being referenced in songs — Drake's "wet like I'm Book" bar on Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode" in 2018 was much more complimentary — he unsurprisingly didn't take too kindly to Bad Bunny's reference.

"He worried about another MAN again," Booker said of Bad Bunny in a since-deleted comment on an Instagram post that shared the lyrics.

Perhaps Booker's decision to delete the comment is an attempt to take the high road. Conversely, Booker could elect to respond on the court — his respective area of expertise. After all, Bad Bunny took to the studio to send a shot.

It's worth noting that in his first game after the song's release, Booker went off for 46 points on 18-for-28 shooting against the Thunder. It's unclear whether or not Bad Bunny has a favorite NBA team, but he has been spotted supporting the Lakers courtside at Crypto.com Arena.

With Booker and the Suns in L.A. to face the Lakers on March 22, fans of the purple and gold may have Bad Bunny to thank if Booker goes off again.
