The Class of 2024 Phillipsburg Athletic Hall of Fame presentation is taking place Sunday, April 28, 2024.

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Nine former outstanding athletes, a state championship team, and one of the most accomplished teams ever assembled comprise the 2024 class of the Phillipsburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Phillipsburg High School Auditorium

The fourth class was announced at a meeting of the Garnet Booster Club Foundation at the Gloria A. Decker Senior Center last year. It includes the 1983 state champion boys basketball team, the 1970 wrestling team, two-time state wrestling champion Sid Fowler, All-State football players George Hummer and Justin Viscomi; pioneering girl’s field hockey and basketball stars Holly Hughes and Jill Sassaman; 1,000-point scorer Johnny Eck, and multi-sport standouts Steve Jeroloman, Bill Dukett and Brian Dominic.

The public is invited to share in this recognition ceremony. This is a free community event.

The Garnet Booster Club Foundation and The Garnet Boosterettes, two organizations that have supported Phillipsburg athletics for decades, will be the first inductees in the contributor category.

A committee of school district administrators, retired coaches, many of both categories exceptional athletes themselves, and Garnet Booster Club Foundation members was formed in March 2019 and was tasked with forming a Phillipsburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The inaugural class was inducted in September 2021, followed by subsequent classes in April 2022 and April 2023.
