I deserve to be spoiled while pregnant and expect a present every month – Cartier is nice, I need a spa membership too
A SINGLE woman has revealed her non-negotiables for pregnancy, saying she needs to be spoiled if she is going to risk her life to have a child.
Courtney Thornton, 30, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, explained that she wants to have her own children, but the thought of pregnancy terrifies her.
“Giving birth is really life-threatening," she explained. “It can be life-changing. It’s one of my biggest fears in life. I deserve to be spoiled."
To help “alleviate” her anxiety, she wants a gift for each month she is expecting, including a luxe push present.
However, before she starts trying for a baby, she wants to be married — and is only dating those in a six-figure tax bracket.
“I think marriage is a sacred institution," she said. “We need to be on each other’s insurance — for legal reasons.”

Courtney, who works in marketing and runs her own events business, made it clear that her career will be put on hold during her pregnancy.
“I’ve never been pregnant," she said. "I don’t know what my symptoms would be, but I won’t be working.”
She noted that she would want to go back to work when she is three or four months postpartum.
If a year off isn't enough, she also expects to be bought a gift for each month she is pregnant.
“I want each gift to progress in value," she explained.
“It might start off with a heated blanket, then a heater, a massage chair.
“The gift can match what I’m going through but also Cartier is nice.
“It’s something to look forward to.”
Courtney plans on being physically pampered and wants a spa membership during and after pregnancy, as well as prenatal yoga sessions.
“I want to be able to go to the spa once a week," she said, claiming her appointments will also benefit her partner.
I want a chef that can cook for me. We’re not going to have time to cook.

“It’s good for a mom and dad. It would be a burden [to massage] my feet all day.”
Leading up to her due date, she would like her partner to whisk her away on a babymoon "somewhere tropical."
When it is time to give birth, she wants a doula by her side at the hospital to help ease her anxiety.
Courtney also expects to be treated to an expensive push present such as a Cartier bracelet or Chanel bag.
After bringing the baby home from the hospital, she wants to have a night nurse, so she can sleep without disruption.
She also wants a housekeeper and private chef to help her maintain a clean home and healthy diet.
“I’m not going to have the energy to clean if my feet are swollen," she explained.
“I still want a clean house. That’s good for the whole family.
I got a lot of comments from men who don’t think it’s fair. A lot of women were on my side.

Courtney added that a "mommy makeover" would be nice but isn’t a non-negotiable.
When she shared her list online, she got a mix of comments from both fans and critics.
