See Which Delaware County Companies Made It to the Fortune 500

There are 13 companies in the Philadelphia area appearing on the Fortune 500 for the third straight year, though some saw their positions change significantly, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Fortune 500 ranks publicly traded companies by their annual revenue each year. This latest list came out Monday.

Five companies from the region are in the top 300.

In Delaware County, two companies made the list.

Radnor-based Lincoln National Corp. fell 3 spots on the list to No. 222 after its revenue dipped 5.5 percent to $18.8 billion

Avantor, also based in Radnor, dropped 28 spots to No. 485, though its revenue increased 1.7 percent this year to $7.5 billion.

Philadelphia had been home to one of the nation’s top 10 largest companies, AmerisourceBergen Corp. in Conshohocken, but the firm dropped down to No. 11 on this year’s list.

AmerisourceBergen posted $238.6 billion in revenue for fiscal 2022. It was kicked off the top 10 by California-based Chevron, which posted revenue of $246.3 billion.

This is the first time since 2018 that a pharmaceutical wholesaler fell out of the Fortune top 10.
