Six dead after four separate shootings in Pennsylvania

The tragic killings took place in varying spots across Pittsburgh and Philadelphia

Six people have died following four separate shootings in Pennsylvania in recent days.

In Philadelphia, a quadruple shooting left two men dead and another two in hospital after a hit on the 1900 block of North 19th Street shortly before noon on Sunday, March 26.

A 22-year-old man, identified as Braheen Briggs, was shot multiple times, as was a 24-year-old man, identified as Edward Wood. Both were declared dead at Temple University Hospital at around 1pm.

A 20-year-old is fighting for his life after suffering a gunshot wound to the neck, while a 32-year-old man was shot in the leg twice but is described by medics as stable.

Three firearms were seized and the motive was robbery, police confirmed.

Another man also passed away after being shot in the head on Sunday, March 26, this time in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, according to WPXI.

Police sped to the intersection of Corday Way and Pearl Street following Shotspotter alerts - a gunshot detection system - shortly after 2pm.

The male victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he died several hours later. It is believed the man had been riding a bicycle when he was shot. A gun was recovered from the scene and one person was taken into custody.

A nearby house sustained some damage from bullets and casings.

Meanwhile, on Friday, March 24, two more people were gunned down in the city's neighborhood of Homewood.

Police sped to the 7700 block of Frankstown Avenue shortly before midnight to reports of a 15-round shooting. Two people, a male, and a female, were found with serious gunshot wounds.

Neither could be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene. Inquiries are underway.

And police have also made public the details about an incident on Wednesday, March 1, in which another man was killed in Pittsburgh.

At 5.45pm on the first day of the month, officers were alerted to 10 gunshots having been fired in the 3100 block of Cordell Place in the Steel City.

A man was found down on the ground in a courtyard with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an investigation was launched after detectives found a firearm nearby.

The latest development in the case came on Wednesday, March 22, when Leroy Grace was apprehended in the 1600 block of Arlington Avenue by the US Marshals, Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, and Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit.

The 31-year-old was arrested on a warrant for the March 1 shooting. He was charged with criminal homicide, persons not to possess a firearm and robbery.
