Man Sitting In Car Shot Dead: Philadelphia Police

Authorities in Philadelphia are searching for answers after a man was murdered while sitting in his car.

It happened in West Philly just before 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, the department told Daily Voice. Officers were called to the 100 block of South Cecil Street near Chestnut Street for reports of a man shot. 

They arrived to find the victim, a 29-year-old, sitting in a Chrysler with two gunshot wounds to the right side of his head, police said. Medical personnel rendered aid at the scene but the victim was unresponsive and pronounced dead just before 11 p.m., the department wrote. 

No weapon was recovered by police and no arrests have been made thus far, authorities noted. The victim's identity was not reported. 

The killing remains under investigation by PPD's Homicide Unit, officials added.
