Watch: Trea Turner Blasts Grand Slam to Give Team USA Lead

Philadelphia Phillies superstar Trea Turner blasted a grand slam to give Team USA the lead over Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic Quarterfinals.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner might have just blasted the biggest hit of his career on Saturday night and it was for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. With the bases loaded in the eighth inning and down by two runs to Venezuela, Turner walked up to the plate with bases loaded.

Down 0-2 in the count, Turner turned a Bracho fastball into a grand slam when he sent a no-doubter into the left field stands. It gave the Americans a 9-7 lead in the eighth.

It was exactly what Team USA needed as all of the momentum had shifted into Venezuela's favor following multiple innings of less than stellar pitching from the USA and increased offensive production from Venezuela.

In addition, the crowd in Miami was raucous as it was pulling for the Venezuela upset, but Turner's grand slam turned the tide, quieted the crowd, and gave the United States the lead.
