PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A fight at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility has left one man dead and another injured. The Philadelphia Department of Prisons on Friday released limited details about the incident.
Jamal Collier, 33, and Edwin Vargas, 22, both serving out sentences at the prison, were transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital on Thursday after an altercation, according to investigating officials.
Collier was pronounced dead at 7:14 p.m.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided in the future.
