Petersburg: Halifax Music Festival 'On the Avenue' this weekend

PETERSBURG — Are you ready for Petersburg's largest block party? This weekend, grab a lawn chair and your appetite to attend the 2023 Halifax Music Festival "On the Avenue."

The free event takes place along the Downtown Historic Commercial District at Halifax Triangle aka the "Avenue," once a robust and thriving center of Black cultural, social and economic life.

The outdoor jazz festival will feature a star-studded cast of musicians, food, beverages and vendors. Halifax Triangle is formed by the three intersecting streets: Harrison Street on the east, Halifax Street on the west and South Avenue on the south.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Petersburgers will be jammin' to a great lineup of music.

Friday Flow at IronworksPetersburg music scene hits high note: New concert series

"This year we're partnering with Petersburg Parks & Leisure Services, Molina Healthcare and Petersburg Children's Foundation to feature National Children's Day on Sunday. There will be face painting, a bouncy house, games and more," Pat Hines, Petersburg Center for Development, Inc. President, said.
