Peshtigo School Committee To Meet With Legal Counsel

Peshtigo School Board’s Finance, Personnel and Negotiations Committee will meet in closed executive session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 in the District Office for discussion with legal counsel that the agenda says “could result in possible litigation regarding property transfer, sale or purchase.” Subject of the meeting is identified as: “Negotiations regarding property south of the middle/high school and bordering the Fire Cemetery.”

The school has been negotiating with the City of Peshtigo in regard to acquisition of city-owned property adjoining the Fire Cemetery and the parking lot that adjoins the middle/high school building on the west end in connection with the renovation/expansion of the middle/high school building.

The meeting agenda allows the committee to take action in open session after the closed session discussion is completed.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 the School Board’s Building & Grounds Committee will meet in the District Office Conference room for an update with PSI in regard to the construction project.

The School Board’s regular monthly meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 in the Elementary Music Room, and is to be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. meeting of the Finance, Personnel & Negotiations Committee in the District Office to review accounts payable in preparation for payment approval by the full board.

Lunch prices, administrator contracts and an update on the high school/middle school construction project as a committee report are among items that may come up for discussion and possible action at the full board meeting.

Other items on the listed on the agenda for discussion and possible action include district resignations and/or retirements, district hirings, consideration of accepting gifts, grants or bequests having a value of $250 or more, Start College Now applications, Middle/High School Student Handbook, Peshtigo Elementary Learning Center Parent/Student Handbook, health insurance renewal, Girls’ Soccer, and 2023-2024 WIAA membership.

Kate Willett will give a presentation on the district’s Achievement Gap Reduction Report.

There are to be reports on the Buildings & Grounds; Finance, Personnel & Negotiations, and Policies committee meetings, as well as regular monthly reports from Board President Gary Larsen and District Administrator Patrick Rau. The agenda provides time for public comment and accepting written and signed comments and correspondence from the public.
