PERU, IN- The Art Department of Peru Jr/Sr High School is honored to announce that the department has yet another National Gold Key winner in Scholastics. Leland Brown won this award for his photograph named Fear of the Future. Leland will be recognized in a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York June 7-9.
More than 100,000 students submitted more than 260,000 works of art and writing to the 2023 Scholastic Awards. Work was selected by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts for excellence in originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Less than 2,000 works received a National Medal, which places a student within the top 1% of all submissions.
The Peru Jr/Sr High School Art Department would like to thank the Arts Administration, Teachers, Parents and Community for all their support of the program at Peru Jr/Sr High School.
