The Perry Farmers Market returned for the 2023 season on Thursday, June 1.

The market will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 28 along 2nd Street between Warford and Willis.

“I’m looking forward to another great season and I’m really excited about the vendor offerings this year,” said Lynsi Pasutti, executive director of the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

A good variety of new and returning vendors will be set up each week, Pasutti added, selling everything from baked goods to flowers, crafts, produce and more. New this season will be the addition of a food truck every Thursday.

Special event nights will return on the third Thursday of each month. Public Safety Night will kick things off on June 15, followed by Health and Wellness Night on July 20, Back to School Night on Aug. 17 and Community Night on Sept. 21.

“Fun nights to come out to the farmers market with those themed events and special guests,” Pasutti said.

The Perry Public Library’s Healthy Steps produce giveaways are set to return on the fourth Thursday of the month. Atelier at 1109 will offer kids activities on the fifth Thursday of the month in June and August.

Pasutti said a number of currency programs will be available for shoppers to access food at the farmers market, including SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks and Perry Food Pantry dollars.

Pasutti encourages area residents to come check out the market each week.

“It really means that summer is here and it’s a great chance for the community to gather, get out and shop and dine locally late on Thursdays,” she said. “Grab some locally grown produce, visit with some friends and enjoy summertime in downtown Perry.”
