Saydel defeated Perry 3-0 Monday night in Heart of Iowa softball action in Des Moines.  The game turned out to be a pitching battle between Dakota Lake and Maci Tunink.  The Saydel right hander was dominant from the start, striking out the side in the first inning and never slowing down.  Lake struck out 10 while allowing only two baserunners in tossing her second no-hitter of the season.  Tunink was solid as well, allowing two earned runs over six strong innings.

The Eagles scored in the first inning on a RBI double by Lake.  It stayed 1-0 until the 6th when Riley Pecina blasted a two-run home run over the right field wall to give the Eagles the 3-0 lead.

Perry’s only two baserunners came via a walk and hit batter.

Saydel improves to 7-0 and 6-0 in HOI, while Perry falls to 4-4 and 3-3 in conference action.

Perry returns home for a four game homestand Wednesday with Nevada.
