PERRY, Ga. (WGXA)- A longtime Perry city council member will be stepping down from office in July.

The City of Perry announced Riley Hunt's plan to leave office on its Facebook page.
Hunt said, "It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Perry. However, it is now time to step aside for health and family reasons. I bid you farewell and godspeed."
Voters elected Hunt to the city council in 2004 where he serves District 3 Post 2.
The city posted on its announcement of Hunt's departure: "We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Hunt for his service to Perry. His leadership and passion for our community will always be remembered as an integral part of why Perry is the thriving community we all enjoy today."
