PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria-area gas prices are slowly trickling up.
GasBuddy reports that the average price of a gallon of unleaded in the area is around $3.65. The average is 2.4 cents higher than last week and 13.7 cents higher than one month ago. But it’s 82.9 cents lower than a year ago at this time.

AAA says the average price in the Peoria-Pekin metro area is $3.66/gallon. Their average is 4.5 cents higher than a week ago and 11 cents higher than one month ago, but 82.7 cents lower than a year ago.
Both entities are reporting slightly different numbers for the average price in Illinois. GasBuddy says the state average is $3.67/gallon, up 6.8 from last week. AAA is reporting an average of $3.69, up 3.3 cents from a week ago.
The national average remains unchanged from last week. GasBuddy says the it dropped 0.3 cents to around $3.40, while AAA is reporting $3.43 as the national average, down 0.4 in the last week.
“The national average price of gasoline has seen little overall change over the last week, with big decreases in states like Colorado and Ohio offset by large increases in Arizona and North Carolina. While more states saw declines than increases, any downward trends are still likely to be temporary and not necessarily long lasting,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
