PEORIA (25News Now) - A new Steinway & Sons piano was just unveiled, making it one of the more expensive pianos being used in public here in Peoria.

It will be used during the Art of Opera show featuring Nathan Gunn and students from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

This piano came with an iPad and will play over 4,000 songs on it’s own.

The Museum’s Performance and Events Director Jenny Parkhurst describes what makes this piano so fascinating for music lovers and pianists, ”the exterior is that beautiful black shellac shiny beautiful Steinway piano and the interior is East Indian Rosewood and that is on the lid of the piano and the inner rim which just fits so beautiful here in the museum.”

The Peoria Riverfront Museum is borrowing the classic piano from the KDB group.

The Art of Opera Presents Nathan Gunn show begins next Saturday, April 1st at 5:30pm.
