ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A 61-year-old Pensacola man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Escambia County early Saturday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the crash happened around 2:45 a.m. on Sorrento Road, west of Blue Angel Parkway.
According to FHP, the man was bicycling eastbound on Sorrento Road when a vehicle struck the rear of the bicycle. Both the man and the vehicle ended up in the roadways' south shoulder.
FHP says the vehicle then left the scene and the bicyclist was pronounced dead.
Troopers say they're now searching for a vehicle that appears to be between a 2017 and 2019 Silver Toyota Highlander with front end damage.
