PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Coast Guard is searching for a missing boater Tuesday morning in Pensacola Bay.
According to the Coast Guard, two men left from the 17th Ave. boat ramp. Their boat overturned near NAS Pensacola.
The Coast Guard was alerted around 6:20 a.m. that a man swam to the shore of NAS Pensacola and was transported to the Perdido Key Emergency Room.
The swimmer told authorities he was on a boat that capsized and there was another person on the boat.
The Coast Guard is now searching for the other person, along with the FWC and Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
The FWC recovered a 14-foot boat Tuesday morning in Pensacola Pass.
Family has identified the missing boater as 29-year-old Pete Griffin. The Coast Guard says he was last seen wearing a camo jacket and jeans.
Friends and family are out searching for Griffin along with authorities.
No further details were released.
