LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Nearly 80 million people visited Kentucky last year, a 4.5% increase from the year prior, according to a new report on the state’s tourism industry. Tourism Economics’ latest report, released in March, found the commonwealth generated a record $13.8 billion from tourism in 2023. Nearly a third of that came from Jefferson County.
Bridge over I-71 in La Grange to close Friday for construction work
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A heavily traveled roadway in Oldham County is scheduled to close on Friday for several weeks. The KY 53 bridge over Interstate 71 in La Grange will close Friday, June 7. It is scheduled to remain closed through Monday, June 17 for bridge deck overlay work as part of the I-71 rehabilitation projects in Oldham County.
