According to Miramar police, Rebeca Navarro Rodriguez walked into a Publix on Miramar Parkway and handed a cashier a note. The note was a threat to blow up the store if the employee didn't give her cash.

A Florida mother has been arrested after she was caught on camera brutally beating her 6-year-old son.

"Three individuals were hit by a vehicle in Fort Lauderdale, prompting an urgent response from local rescue teams. The incident occurred on North Federal Highway, with all victims rushed to the hospital. Details remain limited, with no information on potential arrests."

This week in Hialeah, Florida, several disturbing incidents occurred. A 13-year-old boy was accused of killing his mother, a woman and her son brutally attacked and stole jewelry from a nail salon employee, an 18-year-old man robbed a classmate at gunpoint, and a woman confessed to strangling her 8-year-old son. These incidents have raised concerns about safety in the community.

Detectives in Fort Lauderdale are investigating the discovery of a man's body on Fort Lauderdale Beach, reported by beachgoers on a Friday evening. Fort Lauderdale Police responded to the 500 block of South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard just after 6 p.m., where the body was found. While police notes mention a gunshot wound, spokesperson Casey Liening could not confirm this on Saturday afternoon.

Defense attorneys for a Hialeah 13-year-old accused of brutally stabbing his mother to death last month were examining the crime scene Thursday. Following an emergency motion granted by a judge, defense attorneys for Derek Rosa were revisiting the apartment where the 13-year-old confessed to killing his mother, Irina Garcia, back on Oct. 12.

A former South Florida police officer was arrested on grand theft and fraud charges after failing to return a department-issued credit card. In a separate incident, a man was charged with a shooting in Miramar that left another man injured.

• A 24-year-old man from Coral Springs, Nour Abaido, has been arrested in connection with the slashing of an Israeli flag sign outside Bagel Time Cafe in Miami Beach. • Abaido is facing charges of criminal mischief with prejudice and other offenses.

FORT LAUDERDALE - A deadly collision involving a Tri-Rail train in Fort Lauderdale. According to police, a woman was struck by a train near SE 21st Avenue and SW 10th Court just after 10:15 a.m. After a search of the area, they were able to determine that other persons had been struck. The Tri-Rail train was brought to a safe stop and there were no injuries to passengers or crew reported. 

There are about 68,000 people living in Weston, which is in Broward County, Florida. Along the western edge of the Everglades, about 30 miles west of Miami, is this place. The city is known for having a wealthy and diverse population, great schools, lots of sports courses and parks, and a very low crime rate.

TAMPA, Fla. (TND) — Five people in Florida are facing federal charges after a string of armed robberies of postal carriers, while a sixth was sentenced for the same crime. In one criminal complaint, the feds said a postal carrier was robbed at gunpoint on Sept. 5 while delivering mail at an apartment complex in Temple Terrace, near Tampa.

A Miami Gardens father is outraged after his 9-year-old daughter and other students were allegedly given THC-infused candy at their elementary school. The incident led to hospitalization and the father is now planning legal action against the school board.
