A pair of special performers are coming to Pella on Saturday, July 1st, and will take part in festivities related to Independence Day in the Tulip City. American Legion Post 89 Commander David Robbins says the Iowa Veterans Band will start festivities on the Tulip Toren that afternoon at 2 p.m., followed by the 34th Army Band based out of Fairfield. Robbins says both will bring unique performances and a wide range of music to the stage. The appearance of both military bands was the main reason why the City of Pella ultimately decided to move festivities for Independence Day from July 4th to the Saturday before.
