Adding on another accolade to an already impressive spring sports season at Pella Christian, sophomore Eliot Menninga was named Class 2A Second Team All-State by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association.

Helping lead the Eagles boys golf team to just their second State Tournament appearance in school history and first since 2001, Menninga finished the season ranked #16 among Class 2A golfers with a combined adjusted average on the season of 40.25. The sophomore tied for 21st at the State Tournament in Ames on May 22nd and 23rd, posting a two-day total of 156. Menninga posted the first sub-70 round at Pella Christian since 2001, shooting a 69 twice on the season at Oskaloosa’s Edmundson Golf Course on April 11th and at Knoxville’s Pine Knolls Golf Club on April 29th. He also was the meet medalist at Pella Christian’s Sectional meet on May 10th and claimed a top-three finish in four other meets.

Menninga and the Eagles other five varsity starters will all be back next season and will look to improve on this spring’s sixth place finish at the State Tournament.
