A trio of Pella spring sports teams are in their respective state tournaments this week. The Pella girls tennis team is in the final four of Class 1A today, seeking another upset against #1 Waterloo Columbus, while the top ranked Dutch boys start their quarterfinals journey in Iowa City Wednesday as the No. 1 seed against Ballard. This is after individual success for both: Emily Blom placed 4th in the 1A singles tournament this past Friday and Saturday; Jack Briggs and Joshua Roozeboom won the state doubles title earlier last week. In Des Moines, the #4 in 2A Pella girls soccer team is making their 14th ever state tournament appearance, starting against 5th seeded ADM.
