Pro-Palestinian protestors stand in solidarity at UMass Amherst for Nakba Day
AMHERST, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Continued pro-Palestinian demonstrations took place on the UMass Amherst campus on Wednesday to mark Nakba Day. UMass Amherst students and members of the community gathered for the 76th anniversary of Nakba Day, the day thousands of Palestinian people were displaced from their homes back in 1948. The vigil started off with those in attendance encouraged to light a candle.
Iron Horse gets liquor license, just 5 hours before reopening
NORTHAMPTON — The state and city approved Wednesday a liquor license for the reopened Iron Horse Music Hall just five hours before the storied venue was to reopen. New owners The Parlor Room Collective and former owner Eric Suher had to put “10s of thousands” in an escrow account to cover Suher’s tax debt, said Randy M. Krotowski, president of the board at The Parlor Room Collective.
