Pekin restaurant announces major changes to menu

Regular customers at Maquet's Rail House will notice changes at the Pekin establishment.
The restaurant shared a Facebook post announcing menu changes and an updated process for to-go orders.
"Change isn’t always easy, but sometimes it’s necessary to make them in order to improve the overall customer experience," the business wrote. "We all thank you and appreciate your loyalty and business!"

Additions to Maquet's menu
Maquet's Rail House introduced new appetizers and entrees. Some new items include:
- Budweiser pub cheese and crackers for $5.99
- Asiago breadsticks for $7.99
- Nacho baked potato for $9.99
- Buffalo chicken baked potato for $8.99
- Gouda grilled cheese with mushroom and onion for $8.99
- Italian beef sandwich on Turano French roll for $12.99
- The Gym Shoe sandwich for $12.99
Changes to staple item
Maquet's Rail House has offered half-pound burgers for nearly nine years. Now, the restaurant is shifting to two quarter-pound smash burger patties.
According to the post, the change is meant to decrease wait times and cooking errors.
"With the cost of beef today, minimizing the chances of having to remake a ½# burger was something we needed to look at," the restaurant wrote.
The half-pound burger will continue to be available for dine-in, but the restaurant wrote that wait times may be longer for customers.

Changes to ordering
Cocktail and beer: The restaurant will reduce the amount of printed beer and cocktail menus in-store before going to fully electronic menus in the coming months.
"The technology is there to allow customers to pull up our drink menus via a QR code," the restaurant wrote. "This also ensure that everything is up to date at all times."
To-go orders: Customers will soon be asked to place to-go orders via the restaurant's website or Facebook page, rather than by phone.
