Prep softball: Mustangs sweep Huskies on road, advance
There was no late-game rally needed by the Mustangs in Game 2 of a regional series in the 4A state softball playoffs Saturday at Midvale. Mountain Crest was off and galloping from the start against 15th-seeded Hillcrest. In Game 1 on Friday, the 18th-seeded Mustangs used a two-run homer in the top of the seventh in a thrilling 3-2 victory. In Game 2, the visitors scored the first 10 runs of the contest and rolled to a 14-4 victory.

Amid national blood shortage, Greenleaf students strive to make a difference
GREENLEAF — The Red Cross set up in the Greenleaf Friends Academy cafeteria, drawing blood from donors as the student organizers chatted among themselves. Life Flight Network opens new comm center in Meridian

On Wednesday, the expanding medical emergency air ambulance flight provider, Life Flight Network (LFN), celebrated the opening of its newest communications center, located in Meridian.
