A suspect is in custody and a lockdown has been lifted in the Pawling Central School District.
The superintendent of schools posted a message on the district's site saying that the lockdown was prompted when an individual posted a photo with a firearm captioned "close the schools."
News 12 was told the individual in the picture appears to be a former Pawling student.
That person is now in custody of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
News 12 was told there was an increased police presence at the school while police were investigating.
The school is continuing as normal for now.
This comes as numerous Hudson Valley schools went on lockdown Thursday due to fake reports of shootings.
