Ann Teresa Deierlein, 92, a 17-year resident of Pawling, NY, and more recently a 5-year resident of Danbury, CT. passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Pope John Paul Care Center in Danbury, CT.
Born in New York City on September 22, 1930, she was the daughter of John and Ellinor (Sheeran) Schappert. She grew up in Mount Vernon, NY, and later moved to 550 Third Ave Pelham, NY after she married Edwin J. Deierlein; he passed away on May 13, 2002.
Ann was a member of St. John’s Church in Pawling and a member of the Catholic Daughters and Respect Life. Prior to moving to Pawling, Ann spent her years in Pelham, where she after graduating from Iona College in 1991, worked in the school system at both Hutchinson and Siwanoy Elementary school. She was well known with the members of St Catherine’s Church for her volunteer and fund-raising work with the Cardinals Appeal, Right to Life, and Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by her son Stephen, his wife Jill, and her granddaughter Brianna of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by her grandson Dylan of Yonkers, N.Y.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, March 30th from 4-7 PM at the Horn & Thomes, Inc Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
