Man charged in January death in Bollinger County

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Patton man faces a murder charge in the January death of a 28-year-old man.

Christopher Wolk is charged with second degree murder.

On Sunday, January 2, the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office began a death investigation after deputies were dispatched to an unresponsive man at a home in Sedgewickville.

Shortly after their arrival, the male was declared dead. The male was identified as Brandon Stephens, 28, of Patton.

Following the initial investigation, forensic testing determined that Fentanyl was a contributing factor to Brandon’s death. Information was obtained in reference to Christopher Wolk distributing Fentanyl to Brandon Stephens, according to the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office.

The Bollinger County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed charges against Christopher Wolk of Patton. A warrant was issued by the Honorable Judge Alan Beussink for Wolk’s arrest on July 27.

Wolk’s bond is set at $500,000 cash only. He remained in custody on August 2.
