Possibly rabid black bear found, killed near Elkins
HARPERTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - A black bear with signs consistent with rabies was found and disposed of in Randolph County Monday night. Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office were called out to Harpertown after a deformed-looking bear tried entering a home. It was found on the deck behind the house when law enforcement arrived.

City Police, Other Law Enforcement Agencies Looking into Several Vehicles Broken in Bridgeport and Beyond
Bridgeport Police Chief Mark Rogers confirmed there has been a rash of criminal activity involving vehicles in the city, just outside the city limits and into Taylor County. “There are reports of incidents in Rosewood, Briarwood, and several in Taylor County as well that saw several vehicles being broken into,” said Rogers. “We’re looking into it, and I believe the West Virginia State Police and Taylor County Sheriff’s Department are looking into it as well.”
