The Parsons Police Department is warning citizens of a scam.

Over the past few days, there have been a number of potential scams reported to law enforcement in Parsons and throughout Labette County. This is just the latest form of a scam that they have been notified about. The scam is a letter sent from what appears to be a law office claiming to have an unclaimed life insurance policy to collect.

The name is Edward Woodland from Woodland, Brent & Partners LLP. The letter looks formal but is not a legitimate claim. Anyone who has received or receives this letter should throw it away. Parsons PD says to never give out personal information and to be cautious.
