Drunk driver nearly hits two pedestrians: Parma Heights Police Blotter

PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio

Drunken driving: Comanche Court

On May 7, police were dispatched to Big Creek Apartments regarding the report of a speeding Chevrolet Trailblazer nearly striking two pedestrians in the Comanche Court parking lot.

An arriving officer located the Chevy and its driver, who smelled like alcohol and acted drunk. After failing a field sobriety test, the man was arrested for drunken driving.

Theft by deception: Valley Forge Drive

On May 6, a Valley Forge Drive resident came to the police station after discovering he had been duped on Facebook Messenger.

The man thought he was sending money to a family member. It turned out that his account was hacked, meaning he was scammed. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Drug abuse: Pearl Road

On May 7, police were dispatched to an RTA bus stop on Pearl Road regarding a man and woman arguing. The caller said the man had slapped the woman’s face.

An arriving officer located the Cleveland woman, who said the man she refused to identify had already left the area.

While she wasn’t injured, the officer observed that she was drunk and high. The woman was cited for marijuana possession.

Drug abuse: Pearl Road

During a May 7 traffic stop of a Mercury for an equipment violation on Pearl Road, police discovered that the Cleveland driver was in possession of possible felony drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia. He was cited for both.

Harassing communication: Pearl Road

On May 8, police were dispatched to a Pearl Road business regarding a man who repeatedly calls asking for a refund for food he purchased. The caller then becomes irate and yells at store employees. Police are investigating.

Disorderly conduct-intoxicated: West 130th Street

On May 10, a concerned passerby called police about an unresponsive man seen on West 130th Street.

An arriving officer located the Cleveland resident, who was drunk and underage. The teenager -- who was taken to the hospital -- was cited for underage consumption of alcohol, underage possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct-intoxicated.
