Marjory Stoneman Douglas and Westglades Cross Country Dominate in Week 4 Meet

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas and Westglades Middle School cross country teams shined in their meet on Tuesday at Heritage Park, with three teams finishing first.
The girls varsity team not only finished in the first place but recorded the top four indictable times, led by Ella Schwartz, who has the top time at 22:10.8, followed by Carolina Schwartz, Sparta Koumoutsakis, and Olympia Koumoutsakis in the top four.
Esther Bang finished eighth, followed by Cecilia Gago, Grace MacKenzie, and Katie Wagner, in the top 17. Morgan Melchiorri, Mikayla Ryan, Jada Pfingsten, Julie Wagner, Taryn Bander, and Sofia Schorer Kaplan all placed within half a second of each other, with Noa Nierman, Ella Pecaut, Mickayla Sugrano all running for the Eagles.
Coby Alhadeff finished in fourth place for the boys varsity team, who placed second as a team. Matthew Rosenberg placed sixth, followed by Joseph Cardinale and Kyle Pan, 13th and 14th, respectively. Owen Sarrazit and Caleb Walker placed in the top 25, followed by Miguel Martinez, Veer Kapoor, Cooper Roth, Joseph Farabaugh, Nicholas Perez, Alexander Holmes, Noah Seid, Jared Eggener, Jacob Raider, and James Mills.
Alexys Caropreso recorded the top time for the girls middle school team at 14:12.6 to finish in second place. Emiliano Anzures and Jordin Bekker finished in the top five, followed by Evelena Fleck and Martina Valez in the top ten. Rylie Brown, Emma Yeager, and Brianna Loo Martinez all finished within five seconds of each other.
Westglades Mason Polonia had the top time for the boys at 12:20.3 to place in second place. Dylan Vining, Alexander Spadaccini, and Levi Bekker followed him in the top five. Maxwell Barton and Colton Pattok finished seventh and ninth, respectively, with Avi Gabbay, Mateo Quin, and Sean Gokalp all running well to place.
