Park City asks for improvement ideas on bike and pedestrian plan

PARK CITY, Utah — Calling all cyclists, Park City Municipal is seeking resident feedback on the city’s bike and pedestrian plan.

“The Park City Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan (Bike/Ped Plan) seeks to provide a clear path forward for our walking and biking investments,” said the plan overview. “We want to hear from you about your experiences walking and biking in Park City and how we should improve.”

The plan is meant to achieve the following goals:

  • Promote walking and biking in Park City as a reliable option for a variety of trips
  • Provide the Park City community with safe, convenient, and comfortable walking and biking facilities
  • Create a complete network by filling in gaps in existing network and identifying opportunities for new connections
  • Connect seamlessly with transit and improve end of trip facilities

Parkites can leave comments and share their ideas here on how the city can improve in order to achieve these goals.

Residents can also provide feedback via a survey from the League of American Bicyclists, which will be open until April 6.

Survey results will be used to help Park City Municipal understand resident experiences biking within the city, and help the League evaluate Park City’s renewal application to be recognized as a Gold-level Bike Friendly Community.

An open house on the plan will be held this Wednesday, March 29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Park City Museum Education Center at 2079 Sidewinder Drive. Refreshments and Spanish translation will be provided.
