Cleaning Day At Paris City Cemetery Set Saturday

city-ceme-lefils-monument-2-crop

Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Cemetery Committee will hold a Cleaning Day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 10th at the historic Paris City Cemetery. The cemetery is located at the end of Ruff Street near Quinn Chapel AME Church.

The Henry County Cemetery Committee will provide the cleaning supplies, buckets, water, & brushes. They need volunteers to provide the muscle to scrub the headstones. It is a dirty job, so wear comfortable clothes & shoes. With safety always first, the chemicals are safe but you may want to bring your own gloves as per your preference.

Not only will we be preserving the historic grave markers of our Paris forefathers, you will be able to learn the cleaning procedure for your own family headstones. Come join us at the cemetery front gate to join in on the FUN. We appreciate all that would like to learn & help in this endeavor.

NOTE: Chemicals & procedures used are those recommended by the National Park Service.
