PARADISE, Calif. - The Paradise Police Department said they have arrested three people over the last two days while working on Skyway.

On Wednesday, police noticed a red Ford pickup traveling northbound on Skyway occupied by two people. Police said they pulled the truck over due to numerous equipment and lighting violations.

Police said they noticed signs consistent with narcotics use from the people in the vehicle so police used K9 Phoenix to sniff the vehicle. During the search, police said they located nearly two ounces of fentanyl and four grams of methamphetamine.

Police said they arrested Matthew Vanorden, a Magalia resident, for two felony counts of possession and transportation of narcotics with intent to distribute.

The passenger was released at the scene.

On Thursday, police noticed a tan Chevrolet pickup pulling a utility trailer traveling northbound on Skyway.

Police said they noticed mechanical violations of the trailer lighting and pulled the truck over. Greg Gonzales and Richard Carby, residents of Magalia, were identified in the truck.

Police said they used K9 Phoenix to conduct an open sniff and Phoenix alerted to the odor of narcotics.

Police conducted a search and found a loaded unserialized Glock-style 9mm ghost gun as well as half an ounce of methamphetamine.

Gonzales and Carby were arrested for narcotics and weapons violations at the scene.
