Deaf dogs make wonderful companions and are more than capable of having a long, fulfilling life. If you're thoughtful and caring in your approach with them, the bond you form together will pay off in spades. Noomi, the Pit Bull, may have lost her hearing, but she hasn't lost her sparkle, especially when Mom's around. This sweet girl lights up when Mom wakes her from a nap, and it'll make your heart go pitter-patter!

Thank the heavens for one of the sweetest videos on the web, a TikTok clip shared by @emmalot143 , which gives us a glimpse at the Pittie's thousand-watt smile. It's giving beauty queen vibes. Take a look at this gorgeous angel and try not to smile right back at her!

"Noomi's smile is everything! I just love her," the 31-second clip says. Noomi's mom explains the proper way to wake the little sleeping beauty without startling her saying, "we have to gently tap her to let her know we're home."

It's no wonder this video already has 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments. These kind of interactions with pups make the world's hearts full, as noted in the comments section.

"I love that you talk to her like she can still hear you. Her smile is everything!" one person remarked.

"Awwww I just fell in love . She has a beautiful smile," another said.

"That smile put a smile on my face. She’s beautiful," another added.

Many others commented that Noomi's smile and how the world is so much better having seen it and they're right!

The Best Way To Wake a Deaf Dog

Best Friends Animal Society advises waking a deaf dog should be done with care. They suggest touching the dog gently on the shoulder, just as Noomi's mom did. You can also place your hand in front of their nose to give them the chance to catch your scent. And because waking a deaf pup may feel confusing for them, be sure to make it a happy thing by giving them treats, praise, and a whole lot of love.

Life with a deaf dog comes down to trust. Because you'll do most of your communication through your hands and signing for training signals, it's important you build a solid repertoire of positive interactions (like petting or waking) so they learn your hands are safe. Then, when you go to wake them with your hands, they aren't frightened but instead, comforted.

Deaf dogs are incredible souls. They only need support and patience from their people. In return, they'll offer up unconditional love and acceptance. Look at Noomi. She's absolutely perfect awake or asleep!
