OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Friday is a 6 First Alert Weather Day due to the potential for at least one, possibly two rounds of strong to severe storms. A large storm system will be moving out into the Plains and the Midwest Thursday night into Friday. That system will likely spark thunderstorms to our southwest in Kansas and Oklahoma before rolling our way later Thursday night into Friday. The severe weather risk on Thursday will be highest across central and southern Kansas down into northwestern Texas. It any of these storms can make it into our area, it would likely be after midnight.
