Severe weather possible this afternoon and tonight

Good morning, folks!

Starting the morning with temps in the 60s across the High Plains. Light showers will move across southern parts of the Panhandle this morning and into the noon hour. Temps will still rise into the 80s for this afternoon with a break through in the cloud cover throughout the day. We do have a chance of severe weather today. Our environment will be seeing a dryline move west to east through the area. From central to eastern parts of the Panhandle, our environment will be favorable for supercells to form. However, it will are very boom or bust situation. If the cap is able to break then expect storms to be on the severe side. The Storm Prediction Center has the two thirds of the Panhandles under a slight risk to enhanced risk of severe weather. All hazards will be possible so be sure to stay weather aware. Addionally, Saturday we could see the same forecast to the far east. Then more storms on the forecast for next week. Stay tuned!
