FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — Florence mother Peggy Hawkins lost her son Steven Hawkins in 2020 after his lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system. It affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat, and digestive juices with symptoms that include coughing, fatty stools, and repeated lung infections.
