5 rescued after private plane headed to West Palm Beach crashes in the Bahamas
Five people are safe after a private plane headed to Palm Beach International Airport crashed in the Bahamas Thursday.

According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, it happened around 3 p.m. about 10 miles north of Andros Island.
Statement from the Bahamas Air Accident Investigation authorities:
"This afternoon at 3:10 pm, the Aircraft Accident investigation Authority (AAIA) of the Bahamas received notification from the Bahamas Air Navigation Services Authority (Air Traffic Control), that a single engine Piper PA-32 aircraft with United States registration N3790W ditched into waters approximately 10 NM north of Andros, Bahamas with five (5) persons on board.
"The aircraft departed the San Andros Airport, Andros, Bahamas and was enroute to the Palm Beach Int'l Airport, Palm Beach, FL, USA when the pilot encountered issues and attempted to return to Andros island. The United States Coast Guard along with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Royal Bahamas Police Force responded to the scene. All five (5) persons were located and rescued.
"The AAIA is continuing its investigation into this matter."
